It's Recital Launch Time!
Written by Jayson, Thursday 19th November 2020

Dear Friends, Fans and Followers,
It is with great excitement that I am today launching my second online solo recital!
Following the success of Chopin Favourites in September, I’m now recording another! This time I’ve called it Bach and the Romantics and it will take place on Wednesday 16th December.
This recital will be jointly presented by Hay Music and Evesham & District Music Club, two UK music clubs that I have very much enjoyed playing for in recent pre-covid times. I’m grateful to them for coming on board to help make this concert possible.
We’ve all had a very tough year, Christmas will be here before we know it and I think we could all do with a moment to sit quietly together and share some glorious music that will remind us of all that is beautiful in this world.

Bach and the Romantics will be a festive programme celebrating the art of piano transcription. Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Busoni and Brahms are just some of the Romantic-era composers who transcribed Bach’s works for the piano, and after a selection of those I will finish off with some of my favourite Liszt transcriptions of Schubert and Schumann songs.
Charitable goals
I’m also taking this opportunity to mention two charities that I think you’ll agree deserve generous support. For the Brits – Help Musicians, and for the Aussies – Support Act.
Both of these charities are well-established and respected, both focus on professional musicians, and both channel that focus towards helping those who have urgent financial and mental health support needs.
As we know, so many musicians have lost their livelihoods for the best part of a year, and a significant chunk of those have missed out on the government support schemes. The need is great, so please dig deep and donate what you can, especially at this time as we come up to Christmas.
Two time zone offerings
Bach and the Romantics will have two screening times – a UK screening at 7.30pm GMT and an Australian screening at 8pm AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time – i.e. Sydney time!)
Like Chopin Favourites, ticket holders will be able to view the recital as many times as they like for a period of six months from the ‘premiere’ screening.
See you there!
I look forward to seeing you there – Wednesday 16th December – coming to a computer screen near you!
